Cereal Prizes

I fondly reflect on the good-old-days when boxes of cereal contained exciting prizes such as miniature action figures or glow-in-the-dark whistles. Nothing quite compares to the thrill of finding a prize as you fill your cereal bowl. The free prizes of long ago have now been replaced with "free" mail-in offers, but only if you collect 25 proofs of purchase and send $5.95 for "shipping and handling".

Today I discovered that some boxes of cereal still contain a hidden surprise. I was preparing my usual breakfast of Raisin Bran and milk. There was barely a serving of cereal left in the box, so I had to dump the box into my bowl. The vigorous shaking yielded quite the surprise: a large, harry SPIDER. Needless to say, I did not have Raisin Bran for breakfast this morning.

I want you to know that I bought Raisin Bran at the store today. After hearing your story I was very hesitant to do so and would not have except it was one of the only cereals on sale. I wonder if the spider has anything to do with that.

Yikes. Not the surprise you were looking for I imagine! lol. I actually got 2 FREE surprises in my cereal in the past month.

Prize 1: This thingie that shoots out a batman flying saucer.

Prize 2: A creepy, little Joker figurine. His foot "kicks" if you move it backwards. Why you would want it to do this? I have no idea. And both his arms are behind his head. Again, why? Also of course he has the creepy face paint on. Ick.

That is pretty gross! And in my family, we never had anything "fall" out into our bowl because it was always a race to open the box first and we mastered opening it from the right end to make sure we got the toy first! (I think more cereal ended up on the table and floor trying to get the toy out than it did in our bowl!)
Tenille, I finally got a blog for myself, so come check it out. chrisandchristina7.blogspot.com! You should post some pictures of your new place.
