Blessing Dress

We blessed Sadie on Mother's Day. We were happy to have both Grandpas here to participate. It was a wonderful and adventurous day. When we arrived at the meeting house Sunday morning, all the lights were out. The building was experiencing technical difficulties (this isn't the first time we've had problems, the heat on one side of the building went out in January . . . it was a cold Sunday for the Young Women). The lack of electricity in the building meant there was no light, organ music, sound system, etc. Ironically, the opening song for the meeting was "Teach Me to Walk in the Light". The absence of light caused me to reflect upon the source of Light in our lives. I am truly grateful for the Savior who is my Light and to whom I can turn when all other lights seem to fade and life seems dark.
My mother-in-law made the bonnet and helped me make Sadie's blessing dress. I debated for a long time as to whether or not to include the family picture because I still have my fat pregnancy face. Why is my face always the first thing to fatten and the last thing to return to normal??? Hopefully I'll have thinned out more by the next family photo.
This photo was too cute not to post. I love Nat's bony and hairy knees!

Your face does not look fat! You look beautiful! And so does Sadie. She is such a sweet little doll. I think she already resembles Grant.

What adorable boney knees... oh, I mean chubby cheeks! She is adorable and her dress is amazing. I am looking forward to when our kids can play together... one day hopefully sooner than later.

Saydie is beautiful! Congratulations but what a birth story!
The smocking on your blessing gown is a tribute to your love - that is truly a gift!
After seeing the picture of your family on the balcony made me realize where you are in State College, I stayed in that same apartment complex my first year at PSU (that's a whole story though).

We are glad to hear all is well.
Hugs,
